ABOUT

BkT Architecture was founded by Barry Tape in 2012.  He was a National Finalist for ‘Best Architect or Designer for a renovation or extension project’ for the 2023 and 2019 ‘Built It Awards. He won ‘Best Rural Planning and Architectural Practice South West’ for the Build Awards in 2021.

He has worked on award-winning projects often working within rural settings. He has over 22 years of planning and architectural experience and oversees all projects. He is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and a qualified Energy Assessor.

The practice has a small dedicated team who support the development of projects and the smooth running of the studio.

The practice has built up close professional relationships and successfully works in partnership with various Designers, Council’s, Planning Consultants, Ecologists, Arboricultural Consultants, Structural Engineers, Energy Consultants, Health and Safety Consultants, Builders, Craftsmen, Suppliers and other relevant services.

BKT is a Chartered Practice and Members of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Consultants, British Institute of Agricultural Consultants and Members of the Cornwall Sustainable Building Trust.
